CHIPLEY, FLORIDA, JULY 7, 2006—Kent Construction Co., Inc. of Chipley, Florida has been named subcontractor of the year for rough trade by the Ajax Building Corporation, a major provider of construction and construction management services in the Southeast.
Kent received the award for outstanding performance in the installation of metal roofing at the Santa Rosa Department of Corrections Facility in Milton, Florida. The $44 million Santa Rosa project consists of 35 separate buildings on a compound covering approximately 54 acres and includes extensive site work, utilities and all associated security requirements. The project location is three hours west of Tallahassee and just east of Milton, Florida in the panhandle. The roofing project was comprised of seven buildings covered with more than 300,000 square feet of Englert Series 2400, 2-inch, mechanically seamed Galvalume Plus standing seam material.
Kent has collaborated with Ajax on a number of metal roofing projects in Florida including the West Gadsden High School, the Wakulla County schools and Bethlehem High School.
