Englert Innovations Revolutionize Gutter And Roofing Industries
Submitted by Englert Inc.

Englert Inc. was founded by Herbert Englert in 1966 and was one of the first companies in the industry to use portable gutter machinery in the installation of gutters, coil and accessories. While a handful of companies sold the machinery or the materials, Englert pioneered the concept of a total system, selling materials, equipment, accessories and support materials including color cards and literature and equipment service to independent contractors.

Hundreds of contractors quickly embraced the system and within a decade Englert and his company had branch offices and a dealer network that encompassed the entire nation.

In the mid-1980s Englert took the same concept and applied it to the metal roofing industry, selling portable roll-forming machinery and materials, accessories and hardware to roofing contractors and installers. And with those supplies and machines, Englert also offered a total package of value-added support including certified technicians providing on-site service and maintenance, machine training, marketing support, product testing, the best warranties in the industry and engineering expertise and support.

The New Aluminum

Today, Englert remains an innovator in both the gutter and metal roofing businesses.

Englert is the only aluminum roofing manufacturer in the country that offers up to a 25-year limited warrantee on all aluminum roofing material and a 20-to-25 year limited warrantee on their coatings. It is one of the few single-source aluminum roof manufacturers with an in-house coil coating line. The company offers an exceptionally broad range of finishes to meet any design objective. Whether a design calls for a natural weathered appearance or bright high-performance, full-strength carbon color, Englert offers an array of standard finishes, all available in low-gloss, EnergyStar compliant coatings.

The company currently stocks 23 standard colors in aluminum .032, 14 colors in .040 and 15 colors in .050. Englert .032 aluminum polyester coated sheets are available in two-sided colors—bronze and low gloss white. Englert .040 aluminum is available in high gloss white, two-sided polyester coated sheets. Englert is unique in its ability to custom paint aluminum coil and sheet to requirements with quantities as low as 5,000 pounds.

Englert is the only mainstream manufacturer of metal and aluminum roofing material which has successfully subjected its metal and aluminum roofing materials, fasteners and clips to testing that meets the 2003 Florida Building Code. In fact, Englert Series 2000 and 1300 standing-seam panels maintained their performance integrity far beyond comparable competitive materials. And no one actually is certain how much higher the performance numbers might have climbed—Englert roofing material continued to perform after the testing-apparatus gave out at stress levels well in excess of requirements.

Wide Range Of Choices

Englert provides a wide range of seam profiles, panel widths and finishes to create the roof lines our customers desire whether complicated or smooth and minimally broken. Narrow seams or wide batten-type profiles are available in both structural and non-structural systems. Optional ribs and striated patterns are also available to articulate the roof lines from ridge to eaves.

Our systems accommodate complex roof configurations including hips, valleys, dormers and a broad range of pitches. Panel systems come in custom widths as well as standard widths from 12 to 21 inches.

Gutter Tunnel

For more than 30 years, Englert has been a primary U.S. supplier of seamless residential gutter systems, accessories and roll forming machines throughout the country. Englert continues to be an innovator in the industry. Gutter Tunnel, its newest product, is a novel dual filtration system that protects gutters from falling leaves and other natural debris while allowing water to flow freely along the bottom of the gutter trough.

Now Englert roofing and gutter contractors and dealers are offering their customers a product that replaces screens and other attachments which fail to prevent shredded leaves and other smaller debris from entering and settling in gutters. New Gutter Tunnel protects against debris and forms a tunnel in the bottom of the gutter allowing water to flow uninhibited. And it can be installed easily on existing conventional gutters without interfering with roof shingles and without installing clips that can rust or stain the face of gutters. It comes in easy-to-install three-foot-long sections that can be installed quickly and effectively. Once installed, there are no openings to allow nesting of pests or birds.

Gutter Tunnel gives gutter installation and replacement contractors a badly needed niche product that does the job better than screens and is still economical for the homeowner. The new product can be purchased as needed by contractors, allowing them to fill a customer need with no capital investment or territorial limitations required.

Englert also markets the revolutionary patented, LeafGuard, one-piece hooded gutter system that deflects debris while allowing rain water to flow into the gutter, and a line of seamless gutter machines and aluminum and galvanized painted coil stock with both sides painted in an array of different colors.

Englert gutters are site roll-formed in 5” and 6” K gutter and Englert LeafGuard, the company's revolutionary leaf-shedding gutter system, is guaranteed never to clog. Englert gutters are roll formed to seamless custom lengths on site and are approximately 20% thicker than conventional gutters. They are fastened to the fascia by specially designed internal brackets and are backed by a 20-year limited finish warrantee.

Englert offers the following products and accessories in its gutter business: gutter coil, leader, pipe cleat and band, Leader head, funnel, A, A 30º, B and zig-zag elbows, end cap, pop-in and k outlets, flat strainers, louvered and mesh gutter guards, gutter wedge, inside and outside box miter and inside strip miter.

Roll Forming

Englert also offers its own line of four 5” and four 6” style gutter roll forming machines, 14 metal roofing roll forming machines and its own coil-dispensing and slitting units.

Englert also serves as an OEM distributor for other machines manufactured in the United States . A certified Englert technician is available for new equipment training for contractors in proper operation and adjustment. Each unit comes with a construction details guide and training is offered to installers upon request.

Englert Inc. has a corporate headquarters in Perth Amboy , New Jersey , as well as 12 branches throughout the United States and one in France serving its European customers.
