Englert Aluminum Brings Beauty, Drama to Performance Arts Center

Metal_Architecture

The deLaski Performing Arts Building has always been a place for the George Mason University community to produce beautiful music, dance and theater pieces. The existing facility lacked a clearly defined entrance. The addition provided the opportunity for a new entry to the entire facility. Now the building itself is considered a thing of beauty, with the completion of its award-winning 20,416 square foot addition that has changed the interior and the exterior functionality of the building.

The bright custom pewter metallic coating with their harlequin diamond pattern design used on the exterior gave drama to the aesthetics of the performing arts space inside.

The metallic sunlight-splashed pewter continues to the inside walls of the building, providing warmth to a variety of functions including the public reception area, student activity gathering spaces and a private dance gallery adjacent to the dance studios. The metal chosen was Englert 050 aluminum. For the complete story on the delaski center go to Metal Architecture Magazine.
