Perth Amboy, NJ - Englert Inc. recently unveiled its S3000 Series Profile Tooling and Cap Machine designed for use with the company's Metalman Multi-Panel Roofing Machine.

The new tooling and cap machine allow contractors with the Englert multi-panel machine to produce the S3000 three-inch-high mechanically seamed panel system designed specifically for heavy industrial and large commercial buildings with low slope, long panel runs and wide span structural requirements. The S3000 produces the most positive mechanically seamed engagement available. In addition to its durability and ruggedness, a major benefit of this profile is the ability to easily remove and replace panels damaged by storms, falling objects and manmade causes without removing all the panels of a damaged roof. The tooling produces a nominal three-inch-tall panel.

According to Englert, the addition of the new S3000 profile tooling and cap machine enables the Metalman Multi-Panel Roofing Machine to produce the largest number of metal roofing profiles from a single machine available anywhere in the marketplace today. Forming rollers for any one of 10 different profiles can be changed out by only one person in 30 minutes. The system is a logical replacement for contractors who have been fielding several rollforming machines for several different roofing profiles. Now one machine serves many roofing system needs, eliminating the cost of servicing and maintaining single-profile equipment.

The cap machine and a hot melt sealant system are easily and conveniently mounted and positioned on the Metalman Multi-Panel Roofing machine. A dual register electronic control-panel used to control the length and quantity of the standing seam panel can now be mounted on a swivel base to synchronize with a similar panel on the cap machine used to control the length and quantity of the cap strips. The cap machine can produce individual strips up to 91 inches in length and is fitted with a tray to mount an air compressor to the Multi-Panel Roofing Machine.

Also available are the S3000 mechanical seamer and S3000 hand seamer required for use installing the S3000 panel.

The new system produces the most positive mechanically seamed engagement available and meets qualifications for UL-90, ASTM E-1592, ASTM water and air filtration and UL testing for uplift requirements. The system is available in 14, 16, 18 and 20-inch panel widths. The tooling can manufacture standing seam panel in 30 to 22 gauge steel, 019 to 040 gauge aluminum and 16 to 20-ounce copper.

The other nine profiles that can be produced on the Metalman Multi-Panel Roofing Machine include:

• A1000: Fabricates 1 ½" (38.1 mm) high x 1 ½" (38.1 mm) wide snap-lock panel

• A1101: Fabricates 1" (25.4 mm) high x ½" (12.7 mm) wide integral snap-lock nail strip panel (includes clip relief rollers)
