Wellington Aquatics Center

The newly renovated Wellington Aquatics Complex in Wellington, Florida consists of a state of the art Olympic size pool which was recently redesigned to meet competitive standards. The renovations included deepening areas of the pool, raising and widening the pool deck, and the installation of stainless steel gutters to absorb waves.

The project also included replacing the old aquatic building with a larger 10,000 square foot structure that includes concession stands, showers, restrooms, a weight room, and classrooms for first aid, CPR and lifeguard courses.

Architect Saltz Michelson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida chose a stucco exterior and a 6,000 square foot standing seam metal roof consistent with other part of a much larger municipal complex that includes the aquatics center. A bone white, Englert Series 2000 standing seam metal roof was chosen for its durability and wind uplift capabilities as well as serving as an aesthetic, unifying factor for the various elements of the complex including a municipal offices, amphitheater and a signature clock tower.

The Collage Companies in Lake Mary, Florida was the general contractor.
